URBAN GROWTH AND SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT ALONGTRANSPORT CORRIDORS IN DUJAIL MUNICIPALITY

Often, most cities grow as a result of the increase in population inaddition to increased urbanization in developing cities, including in Iraq. Whereurban growth is defined as a set of phenomena, which offers geographical,economic, social and administrative advantages in terms of attraction andinfluence, the areas associated with them tend to suffer from populationconcentration and accumulation in productive activities and services. This resultsin social impacts on an economic, geographical and administrative scale in theregion itself and its surroundings [4]. Usually, growth sites in the city are placeswhere development is feasible with the lowest possible costs on flat land andclose to infrastructure services, especially transport corridors.
