Paradental Cyst (Inflammatory Collateral Cyst): A True Clinicopathologic Entity

Paradental cyst is an inflammatory odontogenic cyst arisingin association with partially erupted third molars affected withpericoronitis. The common location is on the buccal aspect ofthe molar teeth. Radiographically, the characteristic presentationis a well-defined radiolucency superimposed on the roots.Histologically, cysts were lined with nonkeratinized epithelium.The various concepts underlining the origin/pathogenesis ofthis rare entity is discussed and critically apprised.
