Catalytic hydrogenation of kaurenoic and grandiflorenic acids methyl esters with RuCl2(DMSO)4 in homogeneous and biphasic media.

摘要

RuCl2(DMSO)4 was used in hydrogenation reactions of kaurenoic and grandifl orenic acid methylester in homogeneous medium and grandifl orenic acid methyl ester in biphasic toluene/watermedia. The reaction products were characterized by GC-MS. The catalytic parameters wereoptimized giving high percent conversion and some stereomeric preference for both acids.
