摘要

The aims of the present work were to reduce the production cost of micropropagation of shoot tips of banana cv. Ma?? (Musa spp. AAB) and to evaluate their performance in field. The micropropagation was performed in Nuclear Energy Center of Agriculture - USP, with explants in multiplication MS media, containg different carbon sources (sucrose P.A., crystal sugar and mascavo sugar). The number of shoot tips produced during treatments was not different statisticaly in response to sucrose P.A. and crystal sugar, but crystal sugar was superior to mascavo sugar. In the field of Presidente Prudente-SP city, plants obtained from different treatments of micropropagation stages did not show differences in agronomical characteristics, and the occurence of somaclonal variation was not observed. Utilization of crystal sugar could reduce about 50% of the media costs, maintaing the same quality of shoots tips micropropagated on sacarose P.A. medium.
