Diagnostic problems based on observations of a female patient suffering from myasthenia gravis coexisting with lupus-like syndrome and diagnosed borreliosis

Coexistence of one or more autoimmune diseases seems not to be so rare. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is the disease most often coexisting with other autoimmune disorders. Myasthenia gravis less often coexists with SLE, but there have already appeared descriptions of such occasional cases. The case of a female patient with diagnosed myasthenia gravis followed by thymectomy and with lupus-like syndrome diagnosed several years later is presented in this study. Addition of Borrelia burgdorferi infection complicated the clinical picture. Diagnostic difficulties encountered in the observed case are presented in this study.
