TwelvefemalePhanRangsheepwithaninitialweightof21.3±0.2kgat4monthsofagewereallocatedina2x2factorialdesignwith3replicates.Thefirstfactorwasnonproteinnitrogensource(ureaornbsp;potassiumnitrate);thesecondfactorwasMangosteenpeelmealat0or1.5%ofthedietDM.nbsp;nbsp;Feedingpotassiumnitrateratherthanureadecreasedtheratioofmethanetocarbondioxideintheeructedairfromthesheep.TherewasatendencyformethaneproductiontobereducedbysupplementationwithMangosteenpeel.TherewasnoeffectoftheNPNsource,norofthesupplementationwithMangosteenpeel,onapparentdigestibility,Nretention,andgrowthperformance.
