AninvitroincubationwasusedtoevaluateeffectsofMangosteenpeelextractwithcalciumnitrateorureaonmethaneproductionfromasubstrateofmolassesandcassavaleafmeal.Thedesignwasa2*2factorialarrangementinacompletelyrandomblockdesignwithfourreplications.Calciumnitrateasreplacementforurea,andadditionofMangosteenextract,nbsp;loweredmethaneproductionduringthefinalphase(32to48h)oftheincubation.Estimatesofeffectsovertheentireincubationperiod,basedpartiallyonresultsfromsimilarexperimentsintheliterature,supportnbsp;theeffectofcalciumnitrateinloweringmethaneproduction.TheapparentlybeneficialeffectofMangosteenpeelextractinreducingmethaneproductionneedstobesubstantiatedbyfurtherresearch.nbsp;
