Thisstudywasconductedon32021-day-oldchickenstoassesstheeffectsofslow(K*K)orfast(K*N)featheringgenesandproteinrationsongrowthandcarcassqualityofsexedbroilers.Thedesignwasa2x2x2factorial,consistingoftwofeatheringgenotypes(K*KandK*N),twosexesandtworations(R1andR2).Thegenotypeswererandomlydistributedintotwogroupsof160birdseachandfedtwotestdietshaving21%(R1)and23%(R2)crudeprotein(PB)withaconstantmetabolizableenergyvalueof3,000Kcal/kg.nbsp;nbsp;Majorresultsshowednogeneeffect(P0.05)ongrowthratewhenfedanyofthediets.Feedefficiency(gfeedintake/gweightgain)of2.22and2.30and2.09and2.32,forR1andR2,respectivelywerebetter(P0.05)at42days-oldforchickenshavingK*NthanK*Kgenes.InteractionsbetweenRationandSexweresignificant(P0.05)ongrowthrateandfeedconversionratio.CarcassyieldforK*Kof79.73%(R1)and79.47%(R2)weresignificantlyhigher(P0.05)than78.57%(R1)and75.68%(R2)fortheK*Ngene.nbsp;nbsp;ThisstudysuggeststhatthefastfeatheringgeneK*Ncouldimprovefeedefficiency,itsalleleK*Kandrationwith23%crudeproteinscouldfavortheproductionofleanbroilerchickenscarcasses.nbsp;
