Role of women in homestead of small farm category in an area of Jessore, Bangladesh

Thepurposeofthestudywastoidentifytheroleofwomeninhomesteadandfamilylife.Bangladeshisacountryofilliteratepeople.OnlynineteenpercentofwomenareeducatedinruralBangladesh.Womenarethehalfofsociety.Theytakepartincompletionofmosthomesteadactivities.Theyplayanimportantroleindomesticdutiessuchaswashingutensils,cleaninghousecompounds,livestockandpoultrymanagementandfeeding,aswellaspost-harvestactivities,guestentertainment,decisionmakingandtechnologyadoption.Womenaresuperiorindecisionmakingconcerninghomesteadactivitiesbut70-96percentdecisionsareexecutedbyjointventure(Wifeandhusband).Conscientiousnessofwomenandtheireducationlevelareresponsiblefortechnologyadoption.Adoptionoftechnologywasfasteramonghighereducatedwomenintheruralvillage.
