Effect of the incorporation of brewers' grains on growth performance of broilers

Thestudyaimedtoevaluatetheeffectsofbrewers'grainsincorporatedtothebroilerdietsongrowthperformance.Atotalof250onedayoldF15broilerchickenswasrandomlydividedinto5equalgroupsaccordingtothesubstitutionrateofmaizewithbrewers'grains(0%,10%,20%,30%and40%)for48days.Nomortalitywasobservedinanygroups.Thefeedconversionwaspoorer,andthebodyweights,weightgainsandfeedintakeswerenbsp;diminishedproportionallytothesubstitutionratesinbirdsreceivingdietssubstitutedwith30%or40%brewers'grainsduringstarting,growingandfinishingperiods.Forasubstitutionrateof20%,theparameterswerenotsignificantlyalteredwhiletherewasanimprovementwitharateofsubstitutionof10%.Theseresultsshowthattheincorporationofbrewers'grainsbeyond20%intobroilerdietsdelaysgrowthprobablybecauseofthehighcrudefiber.
