AnexperimentongrowinglargewhiteYorkshirepigswasconductedtostudytheeffectofincorporatingbiogasslurryonthegrowthperformanceandcarcasstraits.Eighteenpigletsof3monthsagewithsimilarbodyweightwereprocuredandgroupedinthreegroupscontainingthreemaleandthreefemalepiglets.Alltheanimalswerehousedinindividualpens.Onestandardpiggrowerrationwasformulated.Tenand20percentofbiogasslurrywasincorporatedinthecontroldietreplacingmaizeandricebranonnitrogenequivalentbasis.Theexperimentaldietswererandomlyallocatedtothreegroups.Adlibitumfeedingwasdoneindividuallyforaperiodof95days.Boththefinalbodyweightandaveragedailybodyweightgainreducedlinearly(P#163;0.05)withtheincreaseinthelevelofbiogasslurryindiet.AdditionofBGSdeteriorated(P#163;0.05)FCR.Boththeproteinandenergyconsumptionperunitgainincreased(P#163;0.05)witheachreplacementofmaizeandricebranwithslurry.IncorporationofBGSsignificantly(P#163;0.05)affectedthedigestibilityofvariousnutrients.Significant(P#163;0.05)effectsofincorporatingthebiogasslurryinthecontroldietwereobservedontheG-1-fatandbacon.ThedatarevealedthattheBGSmaybelimitedto10percentingrowingpigdiets.
