TheaimofthisresearchwastoestimateHolstein#8217;sallelicfrequenciesforKappacaseingeneinNari?o-Colombia.nbsp;ThegenotypeofeachanimalwasmolecularlydeterminedbythePCR-SSCPtechniqueon748Holsteinanimals,whichweredistributedinthreedairyzonesand57farmslocatedinPasto,PupialesandGuachucal.MatrixdatawereanalyzedtwiththeTFPGA(ToolsForPopulationGeneticsAnalysis)softwareinordertodeterminetheallelicfrequenciesofalltheanimals.nbsp;nbsp;Whenallanimalsinthethreezonesweretreatedasonepopulation,allelicfrequencieswere0.80foralleleAand0.20forallele.Alsoa27.9%ofheterocigositywasobservedandlackofHardy#8211;Weinbergequilibriumwasnoticed(P0.05).Ineachzone,resultsindicatedthatallpopulationswereinHardy-Weimbergequilibrium(P0.05).Accordingtotheseresultsitispossibletoidentifygeneticstructureatleastinoneofthezones.TheallelicfrequencyforAwas0.82;0.75and0.80andtheobservedheterocigositywas25.5%;31.6%and28.5%.inPasto,PupialesandGuachucalrespectively.nbsp;AllthesevaluesfallintotheuniversalparametersfortheHolsteinbreed.nbsp;
