Length of Gibbs Chain for Stayability in Nelore Beef Cattle

TheaimofthisstudywastocomparetheobtainedresultsforgeneticparametersandbreedingvaluesfordifferentlengthsofGibbschain,inanalysis,fortheNeloreGeneticBreedingProgram.ThereareasmallnumberofstudiesonstayabilityfortheNelorebreedinBrazil,speciallyusingBayesiantoolsontheestimationof(co)variancecomponentsandgeneticparametersandonthepredictionofbreedingvalues.Giventheheritabilityestimatesof0.16+0.03andtherankcorrelationsuperiorto98%,itwasconcludedthatthelengthofthechain,underaconservativeburn-inperiod,doesnotinfluencethe(co)variancecomponentsandtheheritabilityestimates,neithertheNelorebreedingvaluepredictionsforstayability.
