nbsp;Onehundredandsixty-eightBovanNeralayers(average1.98kg)thathadbeeninlayfor10monthswereusedtoevaluatetheeffectofmethionine,lysineand/orvitaminC(Ascorbicacid)supplementationoneggproduction,externalandinternaleggqualitycharacteristicsoflayersintheHumidTropics.Theexperiment,whichwasinacompletelyrandomizeddesign(CRD),hadseventreatmentseachreplicatedthreetimes.Therewere8layersperreplicate.Theexperimentaldietwasa16%CPand11.68MJkg-1layermashsupplementedwitheither0.03%vitaminC(VitC),0.1%methionine(Me),0.1%lysine(Li),0.1%methionine+0.03%vitaminC(ViC-Me),0.1%lysine+0.03%vitaminC(VitC-Li)or0.1%methionine+0.1%lysine(Mi-Li).nbsp;Thecontroldiet(Ctl)hadnomethionine,lysineand/orvitaminCsupplementation.Thestudylasted5months(November-March).Resultsshowedthatthesupplementationofthelayerdietswithmethionine,lysineand/orvitaminCdidnotsignificantlynbsp;influenceeggproduction,externalandinternaleggqualitycharacteristicsofthelayers.Therefore,itmaynotbeadvantageoustosupplementthedietofoldlayerswithmethionine,lysineand/orvitaminC.
