Quelles perspectives pour |’intervention sociale communautaire aupres des jeunes au Québec ? Le cas des services aux jeunes dans la région du Bas-Saint-Laurent

The purpose of this article is to start a retlection on how social intervention aiming the youth can adapt itself to the transformations that are currently affecting the province of Quebec. We will more speci?cally focus our attention on the recon?guration of community services in the Lower St Laurent region (MRC of La Mitis) where. like everywhere else in the province. social actors have to deal with expenses rationalisation, most known under the name of austerity. We will use data collected among social workers and practitioners working with the youth, (16-35 years old) in these mral areas. When needed we will crosscheck these results with data collected among young people concemed by their services and interventions. In this way, we will understand how these changes can affect the intervention on the youth, but also more largely on the territorial governance. While analysing actions and processes of adaptation, we will simultaneously focus on what we can identify as social innovations.
