Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention on quality of life in patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Methods A total of 57 AS patients were randomly divided into the observation group (n=27) and the control group (n=30). The control group was given conventional nursing, and the observation group was applied with the comprehensive nursing interventions including psychological nursing, medication guide, rehabilitation training and discharge guidance. The Bath ankylosing spondylitis functional index(BASFI) and modified quality of life scale for ankylosing spondylitis were compared between two groups 12 weeks after intervention. Results The score of BASFI and modified quality of life scale for ankylosing spondylitis were higher in the observation group than those in the control group 12 weeks after intervention (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion The comprehensive nursing intervention plays an important role in improving quality of life and motor function of AS patients.
