Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical effect of enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition for patients after esophageal cancer surgery. Methods A total of 72 patients with esophageal cancer surgery were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 36 cases in each group.Patients in the observation group and the control group were given enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition support respectively. The intestinal exhaust time, drainage volume, length of stay, drainage time were observed, and serum level of total protein (TP), prealbumin (PA) and albumin (ALB) were detected. Results Patients in the observation group had a shorter intestinal exhaust time, lower drainage volume, shorter length of stay and shorter drainage time compared with the control group (P<0.01). The serum level of TP、PA、ALB were higher in the observation group than those in the control group (P<0.05or P<0.01). Conclusion The early enteral nutrition intervention for esophageal cancer after surgery are safety and effective, which can promote the recovery of intestinal functioning and improve the nutrition status.
