：Objective To investigate the knowledge of drug safety among parents of children, and provide reference for education of drug-use safety in children. Methods 〓A questionnaire based survey was conducted to 150 parents of children who lived in Li Gounty, Gansu Province, China. The main contents of the questionnaire included general information, knowledge of drug safety and unsafe drug-use habits. Results 〓Totally 150 valid questionnaires were collected. There were several issues influencing the drug-use safety among parents, including choosing drugs from their own experience(14.00%), reducing therapeutic doses for children from adult dosage(8.00%), taking medicine without reading instructions(20.00%), selecting drugs which were intended for adults(6.00%), using vitamins or antibiotics without doctor's advice(8.00%), drug withdrawal or changing medication without doctor's advice(32.00%), reducing or increasing therapeutic doses for children frequently(12.00%). Totally 27(18.00%)parents reported the misuse of drugs in their children. Conclusion 〓It is required to carried out targeted education on drug-use safety in children, and enhance the knowledge of parents about safe use of drugs.
