Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of traditional Chinese medicine “balanced diet” health education on quality of life of patients with hemodialysis. Methods A total of 60 patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis treatment were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 30 cases in each group. Both two groups were given routine nursing intervention and the observation group was applied with traditional Chinese medicine “balanced diet” health education intervention additionally. The nutritional status and quality of life of two groups were compared. Results The serum level of hemoglobin and blood albumin were significant higher in the observation group than those of the control group after intervention (P<0.01); the score of each dimension in WHOQLBREF scale was higher in the observation group than that in the control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion The traditional Chinese medicine “balanced diet” health education intervention can significantly improve the quality of life in hemodialysis patients.
