A note on the isolation of chemoautotrophic ammonium-oxidising bacteria from two New Zealand soils

Abstract Two strains of ammonium-oxidising bacteria have been isolated in pure culture by a liquid enrichment technique from two arable New Zealand soils and identified as Nitrosomonas spp. by electron microscopy.
