Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of comfortable nursing interventions for elderly patients with biliary tract surgery. Methods A total of 312 elderly patients with biliary tract surgery were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, with 156 cases in each group. Both two groups received routine nursing care at perioperative period, and patients in the observation group was given comfortable nursing interventions. The satisfaction degree of patients to nursing service and the incidence of postoperative adverse reactions were compared between two groups. Results The nursing satisfaction rate was 94.9% (148/156) in the observation group and was 77.6% (121/156) in the control group, with a significant difference (P<0.01). The incidence of postoperative adverse reactions was lower in the observation group than that of controls (1.3% vs. 6.4%, P<0.05). Conclusion Comfortable nursing intervention is potentially effective to reduce the incidence of postoperative adverse reactions and improve the nursing satisfaction in elderly patients undergoing biliary tract surgery.
