:Objective To investigate the effect of polyester foam dressing combined with specific electromagnetic wave radiation(TDP)in treatment of radiation-induced skin injury. Methods 〓Totally 30 patients with radiation-induced skin injury were assigned to the observation group and the control group, with 15 cases in each group. All patients received TDP after normal saline for wound irrigation. The wounds were dressed with 3M polyester foam dressing in the observation group and with petrolatum gauze/sterile gauze in the control group. The frequency of dressing changes, time to would closure and treatment costs were observed. The treatment compliance and degree of pain were compared between two groups. Results 〓The observation group required less frequent dressing changes and shorter time to would closure compared with the control group(P0.05). The Visual Analogue Scale on pain in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P0.05). There was no significant difference in treatment costs between two groups(P0.05). The patients compliance to 3M polyester foam dressing was superior to petrolatum gauze/sterile gauze(P0.05). Conclusion 〓The polyester foam dressing combined with TDP showed a superior efficacy and patients compliance in the treatment of radiation-induced skin injury.
