:Objective To investigate the effect of delayed umbilical cord clamping on blood glucose of full-term neonates born to mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods 〓Totally 120 full-term pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus and spontaneous labor of were included and assigned into the control group(n=30)and the observation group(n=30). In the control group, the umbilical cord was clamped immediately after delivery. In the observation group, the umbilical cord was clamped 2 minutes after delivery, the umbilical cord was clamped immediately if the umbilical pulse-wave ceased with 2 minutes after delivery). The blood?glucose in umbilical vein and heel-prick blood glucose 2 hours after delivery were evaluated and compared between two groups. Results 〓The heel-prick blood glucose of neonates in the control group was lower than that of neonates in the observation group, indicating a more obvious blood glucose fluctuation after delivery(P0.01). Conclusion 〓The delayed umbilical cord clamping is potentially effective to control postnatal hypoglycemia in full-term neonates born to mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus.
