The presence of foam in the urine has been related to the diagnosis of proteinuria, which consists of the abnormal presence of proteins in the urine. Objectives: 1) To determine sensitivity, specificity and positive predictive values (PPV) of the presence of foam in the urine as a marker of proteinuria; 2) Correlate 24-hour proteinuria with the amount of foam assigned by the patient according to a visual analogue scale (VAS).
