Risk factors affecting Non-compliance of drug therapy among Hypertensive patients at Cherlapally, India

"Objective: Purpose of the study was to identify risk factors affecting the non-compliance of drug therapy among patients with hypertension. Methods: A Cross-sectional community based study was carried out among hypertensive patients at Rural Health Training Centre, the field practice area of Department of Community Medicne, Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences to assess non-compliance of drug therapy among patients with hypertension. The study comprised of 300 subjects, already diagnosed with hypertension. Data was collected using a pre tested structured questionnaire. Primary outcome-non-compliance measured in percentages, proportions using chi-square; adjusted and unadjusted odds ratios (ORs) based on logistic regression models were used for statistical analysis.
