Sugarcane hot water balance shows that the water content of sugarcane itself is more than sufficient forinternal processing. Surplus internal water is available for external use. By recycling, reuse and good housekeeping, external consumption can be minimized. The polluted water is treated by anaerobic digestion-activated sludge process- pressure filtration and activated carbon. The treated water is recycled to reservoirto utilize for factory cleaning, washing, cooling water make-up, colony, gardening and irrigation. Alternatively, wastewater is made zero through bio-composting.
