“Esto no es una mancia”. Un análisis de las formas de diagnóstico y tratamiento en las medicinas alternativas

The article aims to explore a set of dimensions related to treatment offered by a particular alternative medicine, the podal reflexology. In particular, it is analyzed how interpretative matrixes around corporality define a diagnostic-treatment in which two dimensions coexist. The first one consists in a logic of objectivist aspirations concerning the recognizing of linearity between actions of the therapist and body feedback. The second dimension resides in a multiple and relational logic that evoke a reflection around “bodily reasons”, referring to a non-controllable margin in therapy that is non-predictable by both patient and therapist. The concern of this work resides in comprehension of cosmovisional supports of alternative medicines and the margins those make the processes of transaction of meanings among symbolic systems possible.
