Neighborhood Health Differentials In Warwick, RI: An Analysis of Risk Factors

The ability to define and measure the health of Rhode Island’sresidents is essential to achieving a common goal of a healthyand prosperous Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Departmentof Health (HEALTH) routinely reports on trends in disease andother health status measures. These data inform policies anddecisions, help target interventions for neighborhoods with thegreatest disparities in health and disease indicators, and addresscitizens’ health concerns about environmental impacts. Thisreport describes HEALTH’s on-going efforts to address theconcerns of residents who live adjacent to Rhode Island’s onlymajor commercial airport, T.F. Green, located in the geographicalheart of Warwick, Rhode Island, and the challenges to providinga simple answer to questions about its health impacts.
