摘要

PROVIDENCE – Dr. Jeffrey Borkan opened a symposium on race, ethnicity and the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) June 16th at the Alpert Medical School by saying racial and ethnic barriers in the PCMH and health care need to be examined and strategies developed to address them. "Questions on this topic haven't been asked, the discus- sion hasn't happened. African Americans, Latinos, and the poor are sicker and die at a younger age. We need to focus on the health and well being of the populations we serve and prioritize that for our most underserved," he said. Dr. Borkan is chair of the Department of Family Medicine and assistant dean, Primary Care-Population Medicine Pro- gram Planning, at Brown
