Focal Nodular Hyperplasia on MRI Using a Hepatocyte-Specific Contrast Agent at 1.5 Tesla vs. 3.0 Tesla Field Strength

A twenty-nine year-old female with animplantable contraceptive presentedwith right upper quadrant and rightpleuritic chest pain. A right upper quadrantultrasound showed no evidence forcholelithiasis or acute cholecystitis butshowed a nine cm hypoechoic centralliver mass (Figure 1). A CT pulmonaryangiogram was then performed to evaluateher chest pain and demonstrated apulmonary embolism. Images throughthe upper abdomen also confirmed thenine cm hypervascular central liver massstraddling the right dome and medial leftlobes of the liver (Figure 2).
