摘要

This paper presents an innovative concept for optimization of metal construction cross section in container quay cranes. Using simulation models in software packages ADAMS and KRASTA produced the data for calculation of fatigue damage, or determination of life time. Calculation of fatigue damage for all elements was performed based on the standards EN 13001-1 and EN 13001-2. Fatigue damage was calculated for different container masses to be operated by the crane in determined work cycles and this was subsequently presented with Newton’s polynomial interpolation, followed by the proposed optimization of cross sections.
