Static Force Characteristics of Electromagnetic Actuators for Braille Screen

Several constructions of electromagneticactuators with moving permanent magnet for Braille screen arestudied. All they are formed from a basic one that consists of twocoils, core and moving permanent magnet. The finite element methodis used for modelling of the magnetic field and for obtaining theelectromagnetic force acting on the mover. The static force-strokecharacteristics are obtained for four different constructions ofthe actuator. The constructions with ferromagnetic disc betweenthe coils ensure greater force than the ones without disc and canreach the required minimum force.
