Thenotionofhegemonicculturehasasprinciplesoffree-marketvalues,electoraldemocracy,individualism,consumerism,andentertainment.Culturebecomesacommercialproduct,galvanizingsocialpractices,traditions,andvalueswiththepreceptsoftheglobaleconomyinwhichlargemultinationalcorporationsandindustriesofinformationandentertainmentconstitutedumpsoflargecontemporaryculturalpatternsofsociety.Theculturaldebaucheryofneoliberalglobalizationhaveledtoacrisiswhereinsubstrateisbeyondthebreakdownofthefinancialcircuits,asrootedinmatrixofcivilization:ashort-circuitinthereproductionsystemofhumanlifepromotesaseverehumanitariancrisisthattakestheformofunemployment,epidemichunger,thespreadofcurablediseases,forcedmigration,environmentaldegradation,andhumaninsecurity.Ontheperimeterofsubalternculture,harbouringindignationaswellasresistancetothehazardsandrisksarisingfromthecrisisofcivilizationisgerminatingsocialenergy,especiallyamongyoungpeople,whichdrawsattentiontotheneedtopromoteaculturalchange,wheretheproductionofknowledge,technologyandart,inconjunctionwithcriticalthinking,creativeandproactive,findnewpathstowidespreadhumandevelopment,thecommongoodandrealdemocracy.
