Spectinomycin in the treatment of gonorrhoea

In conclusion we would point out that the use of a single dose of spectinomycin, though effective in the treatment of uncomplicated gonococcal infections from the cervix, urethra, and rectum, is less effective in the eradication of gonococci from the pharynx, thus allow- ing an important route for transmission of disease.
