Influence of environmental conditions and pollution on the incidence of Streptococcus pneumoniae infections

Streptococcus pneumoniae colonizes a large percentage of the population and while it can cause mild respiratory infections it is also responsible for more severe illnesses, such as invasive pneumococcal disease.
