Governance of change for sustainability: experience from Central and Eastern Europe

Since the first industrial revolution in the United Kingdom, the transition from agricultural and rural societies tomodern urbanized economies has had vast environmental and social impacts. Economic growth and changes inliving standards have been accompanied by steady developments in systems of governance in order to avoidcollectively detrimental outcomes and favor socially desirable ones.
