Use of autologous dentin as a bone graft material: a systematic review

Autologous Bone (AB) grafts have osteogenic, osteoinductive and osteoconductive properties , therefore are considered thein bone regeneration.AB Disadvantages: risk of infection at the donor site, a limited availability of the autologous bone and a high graft resorption.Dentin and bone are similar mineralized tissues in terms of chemical composition, like the presence of hydroxyapatite, though the dentin is a more effective graft material because it does not have as many disadvantages as the bone in such matter.
