This article explains a method to transform a discrete transfer function of MIMO system into a standard state space form. A normal procedure of transformation gives the terms explicitly dependent on delayed values of the inputs and noise which cannot be directly applied for state and output feedback controllers. The proposed procedure introduces a new state that includes the original state plus the terms due to previous input and noise values. The coefficients of the unknown matrices and vectors in the transformed state space are calculated by first shifting the time t to (t+T) and then equate these coefficients in both formats.
