A Cu2O/Cu electrode was fabricated by applying an anodic voltage to the Cu electrode in a mixedalcohol搘ater solution containing 1,3,5揵enzentricarboxylic acid and NaClO4. The Cu2O/Cu electrodewas characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X搑ay powder diffraction and electrochemicaltechnique. The results showed that ultrafine Cu2O microcrystal was densely assembled on the Cuelectrode and as-prepared Cu2O/Cu electrode exhibits large surface area. The resulted sensor showedhigh catalytic activity towards the oxidation of glucose with a wide linear range of 0.05.75 mM anddetection limit of 37 M. The good catalytic activity, high sensitivity and good stability made suchCu2O/Cu electrode to be a promising candidate for constructing novel enzyme-free sensor.
