Background: The prevalence of the discoid meniscus ranges from 0.4% to 16.6%. The torn meniscus is usually resected along the tear, which can result in a near total meniscectomy. It may predispose the knee to osteoarthritis because of the interference of the important functions of the meniscus. The platelet rich plasma contains many necessary growth factors for meniscal tissue regeneration. Therefore we use arthroscopic transpositional repair for torn complete discoid lateral meniscus with or without usage of platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM) augmentation and compare the clinical results between two groups.
