Perceived Benefits Related to Anti-Corruption from e-Tendering System in Nepal

Public e-Procurement can be used as a tool to minimize corruption in public procurement. The aim ofthis research is to determine the perceived anti-corruption benefits of public e-Tendering which can help tominimize the human interference in public contracts. Structured questionnaire was designed for collectingprimary data and telephone interview was conducted with the representatives of different governmentdepartments and their suppliers in Nepal. The results show that e-Tendering System has potential for to providemore transparency and accountability, especially by reduces the chances of corruption in public contracts inparticular about 90% respondents agreed that automation capabilities of e-Tendering significantly increase thetransparency and accountability in public sectors.
