PsoraleacorylifoliaL.isanimportantmedicinalherbthatproducesbiologicallyactivecomponents.Asimpleandsensitivehighperformanceliquidchromatographywithfluorescence(HPLC-FL)methodhasbeendevelopedforthesimultaneousquantificationoffivebioactivecompoundsincludingpsoralen,isopsoralen,bavachin,bavachininandbakuchiolinFructusPsoraleae.ThechromatographicseparationwascarriedoutonaC18columnwithgradientelution.Thefluorescencepropertiesofthesefivecompoundswereinvestigated.Attheoptimumdetectionwavelength(λex/λem=280/405nm),theanalytesprovidedgoodfluorescencesignals,andsimultaneousandhighlysensitivedeterminationofthesefivecomponentswasachieved.Thelimitsofdetection(signaltonoiseratioat3)offiveanalyteswere0.8ngmL?1forpsoralen,2.5ngmL?1forisopsoralen,1.2ngmL?1forbavachin,2.1ngmL?1forbavachininand2.4ngmL?1forbakuchiol,whichwerelowerthanthoseformostofthecurrentmethods.RecoveriesforallstudiedcompoundsinFructusPsoraleaewerebetween93.7%and108.2%.TheproposedmethodwasfurtherappliedtotheanalysisofratplasmasamplesafteroraladministrationofFructusPsoraleaeextraction.TheresultsshowthatthedevelopedHPLC-FLmethodisaveryusefultoolforthequalitycontrolofherbalmedicinePsoraleacorylifoliaL.,andforpharmacokineticsstudies...
