摘要

A recent paper1 has highlighted the use of randomised controlled trials (RCTs) as abasis for creating and implementing policies by the United Kingdom government.However, RCTs are potentially difficult, costly, and complex. Therefore, thispaper explores what public policy-makers can learn from medicine’s extensiveexperience with RCTs so that public policy may be both cost-effective andefficacious.
