Difusión y comercio de la yuca (Manihot esculenta) en Venezuela y en el mundo

摘要

This article reviews the origins and paths of yucca (Manihot esculenta), a plant originating in America, dissemination throughout the world with special emphasis on Africa and Asia. Based on the bibliographic review, the elements responsible for its rapid dissemination and generalized consumption in the African continent are explained. Lastly, a quick review of the Venezuelan and world scale cassava economy is carried out.
