Partnerships in emergency care: Summary proceedings from the 2014 African Conference on Emergency Medicine

Every two years, the African Federation for EmergencyMedicine (AFEM) hosts an academic assembly focusing onemergency care on the continent of Africa. After a successfulconference in Ghana two years ago, the 2014 conference washosted in Addis Ababa in the Federal Democratic Republicof Ethiopia. More than 500 participants from nearly 30countries participated in the three-day meeting that focusedon innovative educational, administrative and researchcomponents of African based emergency medicine. The nextconference was awarded to Cairo, Egypt and will be take placein the fall of 2016.
