Gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) technology with sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas provides the most compact dimensions, highest reliability and maximum safety. However, SF6 is a potent greenhouse gas. ABB is the first company to offer MV GIS with a climate-friendly insulation gas based on a new molecule.
