Reflex?o sobre as Características Sócio- Demográficas, Educacionais, do uso de Tecnologias e das Práticas Docentes de Professores de Estatística no Ensino Superior no Brasil

Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi apresentar, através das características sócio-demográficas, educacionais, do uso de tecnologias e de práticas docentes de 334 professores que ministram disciplinas de Estatística em cursos das áreas de Exatas, Humanas e Saúde de institui??es públicas e privadas do Ensino Superior, uma reflex?o sobre o processo ensino-aprendizagem deste grupo de professores no dia-a-dia de suas práticas pedagógicas. A participa??o dos professores na pesquisa foi aleatória, configurada pelo envio por e-mail do endere?o do instrumento de pesquisa hospedado em uma página na internet a todas as institui??es do País que oferecem disciplinas de Estatística. A pesquisa mostrou, dentre outros resultados, que a internet é utilizada como apoio à prática pedagógica por 86,1% dos professores e que 97,8% dos professores refor?am a importancia da Estatística para as diversas profiss?es. Dentre algumas reflex?es, faz-se necessário colocar em prática a??es fundamentais do ensino, o que significa trabalhar os conteúdos na perspectiva da sua relevancia, viabilidade, utilidade e significado, fazendo com que os conteúdos escolares se relacionem com a prática e cotidiano dos alunos, possibilitando aos mesmos atribuírem sentido ao que lhes é ensinado. Reflections on Socio-Demographic and Educational Characteristics, Technology use and Educational Practice of University-Level Statistics Professors in Brazil The aim of this paper is to present a reflection on the teaching-learning process of a group of 334 teachers who teach statistics courses in the fields of Exact Sciences, Social Sciences and Health Sciences in institutions of higher education, based on their sociodemographic and education characteristics and technology use. The participation of teachers in the survey was random, obtained by sending messages via e-mail using the research tool hosted on a web page to all the institutions of the country that offer courses in statistics. The survey showed, among other results, that the Internet is used to support educational practice by 86,1% of the teachers and that 97,8% of the teachers reinforce the importance of statistics for different occupations. Among some reflections, it is necessary to put into practice the basic actions of teaching, which means to work content in terms of their relevance, feasibility, usefulness and meaning, relating the school subjects to the practice and daily life of students, enabling them to attribute meaning to what they are taught.
