Photoacoustic study on the optical properties of aluminium-doped cadmium sulphide thin films

摘要

Aluminium doped and undoped Cadmium Sulphide thin films (CdS:Al) were deposited on glass substrates using the chemical bath deposition technique, in an ammonia-free cadmium-sodium citrate system. Films were synthetized varying Al content and deposition times. The optical properties of the CdS:Al films were determined from photoacoustic and optical transmission spectroscopies. Structural and morphological properties were investigated b y X -ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscope (AFM). The increasing of Al in the reactio n solution yields a smaller crystallite size and higher energy band gap, in the range 2.42 - 2.60 eV.
