This is of course an in-house history, written by veteran AMS men andpublished by AMS. In a category always (and not often unjustly) viewed withskepticism it is a good book, achieving an honest air of detachment. In, of, andfor Ontario, and for the most part a Hannah hallelujah, it nevertheless tran-scends provincial limits and clearly breaks away from veneration for the founder.
