In this study we followed changes of erythrocyte, blood count and biochemical parameters inornamental buff Orpington chickens, clinically healthy, orally treated with a product consisting of severalsubstances with antimicrobial effect (composition per 100g: metronidazole 10 mg, oxytetracyclinehydrochloride 6 mg, furazolidone 2 mg, bismuth sub-nitrate 2 mg). For the experiment were used 4 groupsof chickens. The first group was treated for 5 consecutive days with 1g/kg food, group two with 2g/kgfood for 6 days, group three with 4g/kg food for 6 days and group 4 was not treated as maintained in thesame conditions as other groups. Samples were collected from all groups to assess red cell parameterstaking, leukocyte and biochemistry and samples for assessing qualitative and quantitative changes (CFU)of intestinal microflora. The results for the first group reveal changes in biochemical profile, a significantincrease (p 0.05) of total protein and globulin, while glucose, aspartat aminotransferase and creatinephosphokinase decreased significantly distinct after treatment. In group 2 was observed a significantdecreases (p 0.05) of lymphocytes and monocytes values after treatment. In group 3 was a significantincrease in total white blood cell with a pronounced monocytosis after treatment. Biochemically this groupwas presented a significant increase post treatment of aspartat aminotransferase value and a slightly highertotal protein, albumin and globulin values. Regarding changes in intestinal flora has been a decrease in thenumber of species of microorganisms in the gut of birds treated with this product. Regarding the numberof bacteria isolated from treated groups, they were drastically reduced in group 2 and 3
